oliver mtukudzi

Mourned by millions across the globe, Freedom Park pays tribute to this giant of a man. Mtukudzi was a Zimbabwean musician, businessman, philanthropist, human rights activist and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Southern Africa Region. He was considered to have been Zimbabwe's most renowned and internationally recognised cultural icon of all time. Ironically he died on the same date as the legendary Hugh Masikela who passed away last year. They were close friends and fellow musicians.

He came to prominence in the 1970s as one of voices of the revolution fighting white-minority rule. A quintessential performer he will never be forgotten!
