Members of media are invited to a press briefing on the occasion of the Signing of a Memorandum of Agreement between Freedom Park and Voortrekker Monument to be held on 13 December 2016. The Chief Executive Officer of Freedom Park Jane Mufamadi and Voortrekker Managing Director Cecilia Kruger will sign a memorandum of agreement and spearhead the press briefing.

The aim of this momentous and historic occasion is to consolidate and strengthen the friendly ties that exist between the two organizations; To promote to the greatest possible extend the mutual knowledge, experience and understanding of the respective roles and needs by means of friendly cooperation between them; To recognize the importance of the magnitude of symbolical and political magnitude and  sharing their experiences and information in terms of cooperating in the pursuance of their respective objectives.

The two organizations will co-operate with each other in mutual trust and good faith; assist and support each other in respect of agreed upon terms and inform each other of,   and consult each other on matters of common interests; Promote to the greatest possible extent the mutual knowledge, experience and understanding of their respective roles and needs in Reconcilliation, Nation Building and Heritage matters by means of friendly cooperation between them.

Pertinent to this agreement is for the two parties to ensure that the Reconcilliation Road, is well maintained and kept open to visitors coming from both sides of the organizations; The parties will be expected to inform and advise their respective visitors to visit to each other’s site.   

The agreement will address varied issues such as, costs, intellectual property, limitations of liability, indemnity, contraventions of laws, publicity and publication, confidentiality and conflict of interest as well as corruption.
