Freedom Park is Deeply Saddened by the Passing on of Bra Hugh Masekela

On behalf of Freedom Park,” we share in this time of sorrow, our thoughts and prayers and deepest sympathy to the Masekela family and friends” said Jane Mufamadi CEO Freedom Park.

The legendary trumpeter, used his music composition prowess and singing to defy the apartheid regime.  Freedom Park’s mandate is to honour the political struggle heroes and heroines, who contributed to the freedom we enjoy today. Hugh Masekela’s contribution is no less important than the 85 000 heroes and heroines whose names have been inscribed at the Wall of Names. His spirit and his music will not die. May his soul rest in peace.
