Freedom Park Mourns the Passing of the Struggle Stalwart, Mama Madikizela- Mandela

Freedom Park joins the nation and the internarial community in conveying its deepest condolences to the family of Mama Madikizela- Mandela. Mama, The Mother of the Nation, was a voice to the voiceless a heroine, and indeed an icon of justice. We undoubtedly salute the sterling revolutionary role that she has played in the struggle for freedom and humanity.

Freedom Park, a National Heritage Destination, looks forward to a normal routine verification procedure inclusive of all relevant stakeholders, which will lead to the inscription of Mama Madikizela –Mandela’s names on the’ Wall of Names’ as well as at ‘The Gallery of Leaders’, alongside other selfless heroes and heroines like Ruth First, Lilian Ngoyi, Robert Sobukwe , Steve Biko etc. who sacrificed their lives so that we can experience the joy of freedom and democracy in South Africa.
