A bright shining star has left us, Mr Mthembu gone too soon! Freedom Park mourns his passing and we are shocked at his untimely death. The nation stood still at the breaking news that you had left this world never to be seen again.

We pay tribute to this remarkable politician who was at the forefront of the battle against COVID-19.  He was a struggle hero who dedicated his entire life to the struggle for liberation.

He was a multi-dimensional personality - a freedom fighter, social reformer, politician and a political thinker. He will be remembered for his bravery, motivating others to join the freedom struggle and his emphasis on social reform. His indomitable spirit and commitment to serve his country will never be forgotten. His selfless and courageous life, personified by the exceptional conduct of his generation of freedom fighters, is inspirational.
