The Finance department has a vacancy for an Assets Officer.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position mentioned above.

JOB PURPOSE

To perform oversight and administrative functions to ensure that the physical asset base is adequately controlled and safeguarded.

 

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

 

1

Issue requisitions in order to ensure that the assets register is up dated

Bar code all assets for physical verification, control and safekeeping

3

Maintain a register of all floating assets in order to ensure effective control of these assets

4

Receive, check and issue newly procured assets in accordance with original specification and update insurance schedule

5

Perform administration of all tele communication tools (e.g. cell phones, 3G cards, sim cards) in order to ensure that they are adequately controlled.

Conduct physical inspection of assets to ensure that assets are in working conditions and impaired if necessary

Prepare and present reports and make recommendations through the supervisor to the Freedom Park Council, Chief Executive Officer, funding and Finance Committee.

Maintain assets management records to the standards required by Freedom Park.

Budget,assess,schedule and coordinate capital improvements and or maintenance requirements.

Manage levels stock control over in order to ensure stock levels.

Perform administrative functions in order to ensure that the acquisition / disposal of assets is according to internal policies and procedures.

   

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

 

  • 3 years National Diploma at tertiary level.
  • At least 3 years Assets Management Experience
  • At least 3 years’ stock control experience
  • Proven competency in PFMA knowledge
  • Proven competency in Supply Chain knowledge
  • Proven competency in the following:
    -MS Suite
    -Filing skills
    -Service orientation
    -Numerical Skills
    -Basic report writing
    -Communication(written &verbal)
