The City of Tshwane, University of Pretoria and Freedom Park Host the Youth on Oral History. 

The City of Tshwane, Freedom Park and University of Pretoria will jointly host more 200 youth from around Tshwane. The purpose of the event is to introduce the youth to the significance of orality in the development and preservation of historical knowledge. The takes place on Saturday 19 November 2016. The youth who will participate in the programme are from various areas of Tshwane.

The programme will utilize the documentary on Mama Nokuthela MaMdima Dube. The documentary will demonstrate how oral history when used with other sources such as archival sources to reconstruct the past, remain relevant in the present and the future. This programme is an introduction to future programmes focusing exclusively on youth development.

A presentation by a lecturer from the University of Pretoria will be conducted.  The Freedom Park Education Unit will introduce youth to historical, cultural, spiritual, and heritage knowledge.
