MEDIA RELEASE: Freedom Park to Host an Intergenerational Dialogue in Commemoration of Youth Month, 10 June 2022

Freedom Park, a national heritage site, in Pretoria, will host an intergenerational dialogue, themed ‘Youth in an Integrational Society ‘in commemoration of the heroic efforts of the 1976 youths, who contributed to the liberation of our country.  The event will include interfaith prayers and a wreath laying ceremony. 

Participants in the dialogue will amongst others include Seth Mazibuko, of the June 16 Youth Month Foundation, Dr Charity Pietersen, from Growing up Without a Father Foundation, Doulas Ngobeni, COSAS spokesperson, Phineas Kutumela, a representative from the Department of Basic Education. Freedom Park CEO Jane Mufamadi will deliver a welcome remarks speech.

The dialogue is a response to Freedom Park’s objectives to create and foster a post-apartheid national consciousness of the common legacy that binds the people of South Africa together and to honour those who died in the struggle for freedom and humanity, as well as to foster reconciliation, nation building and social cohesion in the country.
