Dr Nokugcina Mhlophe, actress, storyteller, poet, playwright, director and author.will deliver the 10th International African Writers’ Day Lecture, at the Africa Century International African Writers’ Conference on 7th November 2022, marking the 31st anniversary of the OAU- (now-AU) declared International African Writers’ Day, Freedom Park Heritage Site and Museum, Koch st &, 7th Ave, Salvokop, Pretoria

Reabetswe Kungwane, in partnership with Freedom Park, will on Saturday 29 October 2022, launch a children’s book titled: Sematsatsa o ithuta dinomoro le mebala. The launch will include a dialogue that will focus on the importance of promoting and preserving the indigenous African languages for future generations. The dialogue will also deliberate on how language plays a role in shaping one’s identity and a sense of belonging.

The Charlotte Mannya Maxeke Institute (CMMI), in partnership with Freedom Park Heritage Site and Museum; will be hosting its’ inaugural 3km #WalkWithMaxeke Heritage Walk. This will be a fundraising initiative towards the Charlotte Maxeke Youth Forum in remembrance of the life, work and call to action of Mama Charlotte Makgomo Mannya-Maxeke. We run the 1 School 1 Garden Program with partner schools in Gauteng, Limpopo and Western Cape. Skilling Future Farmers and Future Leaders.
