JOB SUMMARY
To ensure scientific and relevant historical research pertaining to all the primary heritage elements of Freedom Park.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

· Conduct research for the Garden of Remembrance at Freedom Park. · Conduct research on history, culture, indigenous knowledge systems and spirituality. · Research and compile on Names for Wall of Names. · Manage projects related to reconciliation, social cohesion, and nation building. · Publish in peer reviewed journals and other publications · Draft opinion pieces and publish in various publication platform · Draft and publish policy briefs · Record, analyze, evaluate and interpret information obtained from research · Formulate effective and efficient research processes |
PREREQUISITES
- Post-graduate degree with majors in Social Science with major in History, Heritage, Indigenous Knowledge or Political Science. Other relevant qualifications may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years in research in the Human and Social Science areas.
- Experience within the Heritage sector may offer competitive advantage.
COMPETENCY IN THE FOLLOWING:
- Research methodologies.
- Data Analysis
- Computer literacy (MS Office; database; internet).
- Project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills and ability to write good quality research reports for publication in reputable journals
