Freedom Park is a national monument and heritage destination dedicated to honouring all those who gave their lives in the struggles for freedom. It is established as a cultural institution reporting to the Minister of Sports, Arts and Culture and is situated at Salvokop, on the southern tip of Pretoria. Freedom Park is looking for ethical individuals who have a passion to contribute to national reconciliation and social cohesion. Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the position of Supply Chain Manager.

 

JOB SUMMARY

To effectively drive the implementation of the SCM policy of the Freedom Park in order to facilitate achievement of its strategic objectives.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • To actively coordinate all SCM activities of the organisation in order to ensure compliant SCM practices in the institution.    
  • To identify and develop appropriate risk management proposals aligned to PFMA and National Treasury Regulations.
  • To manage and oversee the SCM Unit.
  • To review and submit all required statutory reports, such as performance reports, risk reports, procurement plans, progress against procurement plans.
  • To review and develop SCM policies and practices to ensure compliance with PFMA and regulations and be responsible for all SCM processes, including tenders.
  • To be responsible for addressing all queries and findings from the entity’s auditors and Auditor General queries related to SCM and submit monthly SCM and procurement reports to the CFO for submission to MANCO.

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration/ SCM/Finance/Accounting//Financial Management, etc.
  • A post-graduate qualification will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years public sector Supply Chain Management, or relevant experience of which a minimum of 5 years should be at Managerial level.
  • A proven record of accomplishment in the preparation and submission of statutory reports to National Treasury and Executive Authority.
