As we herald in this auspicious month, more significantly as we celebrate 28 years of our freedom and democracy. We are reminded that peace, unity, the preservation, and the restoration of human dignity are the hallmarks of Freedom Day celebrations on the 27th of April of each year. This day will forever stand in the hearts and minds of our people.
Nigeria, South Africa hold dialogue in Freedom Park to strengthen ties between the two countries. The Forum with the theme “include, engage and enlighten” helped in dispelling perceptions that have affected the relationship between both countries. The High Commissioner to South Africa, Muhammad Manta, has said the inaugural people-to-people dialogue would be a “stepping-stone toward sincere conversations for improved relations” between both nations.
Freedom Park and the Nigerian High Commission in Pretoria will conduct a Social Cohesion Dialogue with the aim of fostering peaceful and inclusive relations between the two countries. The Nigerian High Commissioner to South Africa, Ambassador Muhammad Haruna Manta explained that this inaugural dialogue “…is a stepping stone toward a sincere conversation between the two countries.
